After years in the wilderness, with this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), I’m cautiously optimistic Apple is finally seeing what some of us have been saying for years. Having fumbled its big unveilings for years straight while letting AI whiz past it, there is at least a glimmer of hope. Is it well founded?

It was among the most welcome phone calls I’ve ever made. The call was to Frontier or Verizon or whatever it is they currently call themselves. I was calling to tell them that after 21 years, one month, and five days I was done with what in my estimation is the worst phone company ever.

A Coup is Only a Coup if it is a Coup

Screaming “coup” doesn’t make it so, though it might help someone perform one in the future. These disproportionate reactions, even from ordinarily reasonable folks, will not help stop the real or imagined problems of the new American administration.
