The KDE Project made KDE 3.0 Beta 1 available to the public yesterday. The new third generation beta of KDE moves the desktop to the QT 3.0 development platform, and sports numerous improvements.
Some of the new features, according the the project, include improved HTML rendering in the web browser, performance enhancements, enhanced printer management, and plenty of minor tweaks to the system. Results of initial tests in our OfB Labs seemed good, and at the current rate of development KDE 3.0 should be stable enough for enterprise usage by the time of it's late February release.
