RedHat, Inc. and SuSE, Inc. both rolled out new versions of their respective Linux distributions today. RedHat Linux 7.2 integrates new features including a journaling file system (ext3) and improved configuration tools for tasks such as firewall setup and user management.
SuSE Linux 7.3 also sports numerous new features including a Logical Volume Mangement (LVM) configuration tool, and increased speed through advanced optimization techniques (prelinking). SuSE 7.3 is also the first distribution to market with the new Linux 2.4.12 kernel and support for three different journaling file systems.
