Lindows, the anti-Windows, Turns Out to Be a Lot of Work

For several years now I have thought longingly about Linux, the power-to-the-people operating system that is said to be as stable as a rock, open and free and the embodiment of everything good in the world - in short, the exact opposite of Microsoft's Windows, both technically and politically.

How I wish I could tell you that Lindows is the answer to all your computer woes. Alas, it isn't. Mine hangs up, does strange and unexpected things, refuses to do what it's supposed to and presents me with incomprehensible error messages. Frankly, if Lindows is better than Windows, I'm Mahatma Gandhi.
