OfB.biz: New Look, New Content

By Timothy R. Butler | Posted at 10:12 PM

Those of you who regularly visit Open for Business, perhaps since its founding days at the LX-Talk mailing list last September, may have noticed some changes lately. While many of these changes are slight, we hope the end result will be to help you not only keep informed on the latest open source news, but to do so more efficiently.

First and formost, an editorial decision has been made to move towards more original content and less links to other news sites. While you will still be able to count on Open for Business to keep you up-to-date on the latest enterprise open source news elsewhere, our goal is to provide more worthwhile content right at OfB.

Additionally, the front page and article pages designs' have been moved away from the weblog-like look to a more appealing news periodical style. The new layout should make it easier and quicker to spot the news you want, so you can spend your time using that information rather then finding it. Also, you can now let us know what you think about our content not only in the comments areas, but now with the fast article rating box at the bottom of each article.

Finally, we are happy to introduce our new logo and slogan. Open for Business is proud to be “The Independent Open Source Migration Journal,” the place where IT professionals worldwide know they can come for the latest news in Open Source. Whether you are new to Open for Business or not, I hope that you will make this a regular stop on your travels across the internet.

We would love to hear your opinions on the various improvements to this publication. Good, bad, or indifferent - let me know what you think by clicking my e-mail link below.

Best Regards,

Timothy R. Butler
