Hi Dave

Why don't you try to install Linux Mint 12 Lisa instead of the 11?
I am not that good in kernel module, but I always try to start with the
latest version in the hope that what was not working before will be fixed
in the latest version. But sometimes I'm wrong.

My wife has a sony Vaio also (I have to check the model), and I will
install her Kubuntu 12.04. I'll tell you if the build in camera will work.

My Grand daughter asked me to put Linux on her Vaio (FZ240E), dual booting
