Small victories win the war. Congratulations on a few small victories. 
You might also note, that most consumer grade telecommunications 
equipment share this trait. If you are having a telecom problem, then 
turn everything off, and go get a coffee. When your done with the 
coffee, turn it all back on. Everything often just automagically works 
after that.
