I haven't checked out Manhattan,

I'm not sure about the liberalism involved in the decision making. The
people who make these kind of decisions are the conservative bean
counters. They get their intel from the IT department guys who don't
even know what politics are. Not that the school isn't crawling with
liberal activists. My boss is a lesbian living with a "partner", most of
my teachers are ex-hippies (literally) and the students are no better. I
work in the video department and the videos some people make are just
short of porn ... some _are_ porn as far as I'm concerned. But the
people in charge are still the more conservative, but politically
correct, types ... so you can take that for what it's worth.
As far as the new system, come next summer I'm the lead man on the WebCT
Vista project and the CMS project and Website development and ... I
can't remember all the titles. Needless to say, I'm asking for a raise.
I'm already up to my elbows in homework, videos, weddings, scripts,
photography, websites and more. You think I'd make more money than I do
($600/month). Darn student pay scale. I'm having to take out a $3000.00
student loan to pay for the move up to Chico and some equipment to meet
the growing demands on my time and talents.
I'm a busy man ... but I love my job so much that it's not like it's
work. I get paid to do what I love to do ... just not well. If only
everyone were so blessed.
