Read even more carefully: the limitation "as part of the religious
service" effectively nullifies what Ralph said. He's putting the focus
on distancing one's self from paganism, not on the intrinsic wrongness
of sodomy. Ralph has several times implied or stated that sodomy is
acceptable for Christians. He appears to make the mistake of filing it
under "love" rather than under "dissipation".

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman,
he said unto her,
"Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?"
She said, "No man, Lord".
And Jesus said unto her, "Neither do I condemn thee:
go, and sin no more". -- John 8:10-11, KJV
