Good question. For a quick answer, let me conjecture that murder was one 
of the most visible, unquestionable sins. It is hard to detect a thieve 
who steals in the middle of the night, but murder is something public 
and also punished by both God's and men's laws. Therefore, murder is 
chosen because of the enormity and the visibility of the offense.
