Thank you Tim,

The links suggested a piece of software for Windows that copied the
disks perfectly, as it turns out Microsoft did in fact use copy
protection on the Cd's.

It's sad that people will buy games knowing full well that it'll be
limited by the short lifespan of the Cd, had I known that I wouldn't
have bought the games in the first place.
