Nathan, TRY XCDRoast! It often will succeed where other means fail. Now, if 
all else fails, you can go to BestBuy and some other stores and get an 
INEXPENSIVE unit that will polish/buff the cd out, removing the scratches. 
THEN copy it and put it away as an archival copy.
