Well, since it's brand new, you might jump into their e-mail list and
add your $0.02 worth.  There was some mention of removing some of the
development stuff.  You have to realize that this project is the
combination of two other projects in progress.  Additionally, people
from other projects have dropped theirs to combine efforts.  Thus,
these are the kinds of issues being worked out as we speak.  I lurk on
the list, so I know.

They're having the usual discussions about what to include, what not
to include, even on changing that funky background image.  That
cartoonish image of Jesus has a number of folks cringing. :)  Anyway,
they're working on all of this stuff, and probably would be glad to
have additional participation.  Some started with Knoppix/Morphix
distros, one project used DSL, and now they're doing Custom Debian.

I believe it's simply supposed to be something for Christians and
churches in general.  Maybe we should get them to say who their target
audience is?  Anyway...
