Well, technically, we've always tried to keep CS an open forum for
discussion.

The rest of this is a general note to everyone, not just you, because
I know you aren't even usually an active political poster.

The key to making this successful, however, is the responsibility of
individual posters to let topics go and move on to other things. One
thing those who do participate in political discussions should
consider, after the week long sabbatical is over, is that perhaps if
you've already voiced your opinion on something in one thread, wait
awhile before voicing it again. Indeed, we do tend to rehash things
over a lot to no real avail. We also tread dangerously close to failing
to "keep the bonds of piece" (part of the CS Statement of Faith) --
something well worth paying attention to.

Another thing to consider is that we are in a community here. If your
brothers and sisters in Christ are begging for a reprieve from
politics, taking a few days off rather than voicing one's opinion again
might be a charitable thing to consider doing.

That said, we do use the "PD:" subject tag to make it easy to filter
out these messages. On the other hand, I'm sure there are some who
don't really want to filter out political discussions wholesale, but
don't want the volume of them that we are putting out at the moment.

Just some stuff to consider -- this is just me personally talking
about the matter, not any "official position" I'm trying to establish.

	Blessings,
			Tim
