OK. I found the answer, well part of it anyway. The problem was that I
had installed the Hebrew version of OpenOffice and, since there is no
.deb I downloaded the file from openoffice.org and installed it in /opt
and therein lies the problem -- /opt is like a room with the door
closed. OOo couldn't see the rest of the system and hence couldn't see
the printer attached to the network.

I just did an apt-get -t unstable install openoffice.org and it
installed great and it can see the printer.

Now the question is "How can I link to, or copy, the config files that
OOo uses to *see* the printer. I did search for something useful or
interesting on my system but didn't find anything that I could use --
any ideas?
