I thought everything in the *nix world knew to check the /etc/printcap
even if it was just a "placeholder". I recall fighting with old WP8 back
when CUPS first came out. There was some auto-config failure, so there
was no printcap. Once I created one, according to the format used by
CUPS, I had no trouble.
