okay. having found a source for (apparently) reliable battery packs for it, 
and because the silly thing is fun, i'm putting my toshiba libretto 100ct 
back into service.

thing is, it's got win98. it also has oodles of decent software. in that 
it's a p-166 w/64 megs, i'm not sure the choice of upgrades is all that 
great anyway. also, i have no CD reader for it, though i do have a nifty 
ethernet/modem pcmcia card in it.

so. trying to figure a way that this thing can be put online safely. i 
figure that getting opera would be good for browsing/email -- i think it 
can be tightened up pretty well.

oops -- i just discovered a little notebook drive here that has xp and 
kubuntu 7.10 on it. unless i burn down the house, i'll be back.

meanwhile -- suggestions?
