I agree.

I um, don't know. I can safely say in my 12 or 13 or so years of using KDE, it
was always lacking. Tank for instance, what I describe about the network
manager not working correctly in KDE. It hasn't worked as far back as I can
remember, since before KDE 4 was ever thought about.

I remember specifically trying to enter my wireless network passphrase and it
would never ever take, so I always had to enter the hex key, and I had to
enter it 2 or 3 times for it to actually work. Finally a couple years ago I
got fed up and quit using a passphrase and started using MAC address filtering
only.

I also specifically remember that knetworkmanager would never ever list any
available wireless networks and I always had to resort to using the command
iwscan on the command line. At the time, I thought this was the norm and so I
never questioned it, but when I installed Gnome, I noticed these little things
that worked that never did work for me in KDE.

I am not advocating Gnome or trying to discredit KDE, they are both great
desktops, it just so happens that Gnome has all the little quirks worked out
that I mostly use.

Yeah, I noticed this also.
