I agree with you on the evil that is happening. However, most of the
populace is too lazy to get up and fight for their country when there
is bread to be eaten and there are circuses to enjoy. (As long as the
former will last, of course.)

However, Obama may have some use in that the NRA crowd are less
supportive of the state now than they were during the last eight
years.
