RIAA Abandons Mass Lawsuit Strategy in File-Sharing War

The music industry trade group that has been suing people en masse for
sharing music on the Internet has said uncle -- at least in this
particular theater of war. The RIAA now wants Internet service providers
to cooperate in giving their customers sharp warnings for engaging in
illegal downloading practices -- and then to cut off their access if
they don't stop.
