I was a bit imprecise in my language because I
was typing quickly in between other activities.

I added that paragraph because we have tried to
emphasize themes vs personalities and denominations
on the list.

As for a long dark night of the soul, CS Lewis
reportedly went through a similar struggle late
in his life, after losing his wife.

David in the Bible struggled with such as well,
Elijah had moments, disciples and apostles alike
were dissed by demons and Jesus had to intervene.

I would suggest that perhaps her biographers may
have misunderstood her experience, as may she have
given her limited exposure to other expressions
of Christianity. It may well be that rather than
an absence of God she suffered the attack of the
enemy and had not been well equipped to send him
away.

Such is a very common absence of equipping of
Christians because we do not teach it in most
denominations nor Christian educational institutions.

Just a thought.
