Uniforms,

It is about unity, being one, showing what you belong to, the school,
school pride.

Discrimination and oppression ?? That makes no sense.

If you are in the school you abide by the school rules, the honor systems
and the hierarchy. Wearing the uniform does not discriminate. That's
on par with saying driving on the legally correct side of the road
discriminates against those who would prefer not to. Its the rule set
out by the school.

And to be honest it just looks good !

Maybe I am just biased towards uniforms as I know I hated "normal
clothes" days as my family did not have much and so I would always be
wearing the same old jeans every time and got teased no end because of
them. Worse still, growing up in South Africa most of the African
children would come in their school uniforms on those days as most had
nothing in the way of "normal clothes."

Uniform in that manner prevents exclusion. Everyone is outwardly the
same whatever background they are from.

I have only ever heard one negative point about uniform I actually
agreed on (partly.)
That was of cost for the parents. But anyone who has a daughter would
argue that buying a different outfit for each day of the week would
outweigh uniforms ten fold.
