As I more and more am getting annoyed at fan noise, I think my next 
machine will try one of the Pentium M desktop boards.  I would think 
about noise/heat/power as factors in your purchase, as well.

I have also thought that I don't need all the power of a run of the line 
PC for much of what I do and have thought of investigating some low 
power/fanless boards (mini-itx?).
