Well, that's the thing about decisions. Once you've made them, you have to
live with them. Remember that.

It can be good, bad, or involve consequences you don't like. I have seen so
many people jump at the first chance they get, or spend all their efforts on
the wrong thing. I might even be one of those, myself. Next thing you
know, life has passed you by, and you're still working at the Co-Op at age
40, wondering what you could have been had you expended your efforts in
school.

I didn't quote Bible verses for you, but you'll likely find something akin
to what I've said in Proverbs. Incidentally, if you haven't read it, it was
aimed at Israel's up-and-coming young men. Proverbs will tell you that the
young men should listen to the older men. You may not like the older men's
advice, but you will find it generally leads you in the right direction.

All of this assumes that you listen to the advice of Godly - not Godless
men, of course. My nephew spent time on the streets. He came to admire the
"wisdom" of the hobos. Not that they don't have some good observations, but
they don't act on their own "wisdom". Interestingly, he's never been too
far from the streets. Who knows where this intelligent young fellow could
have gone - if only he had heeded the counsel of the Godly.

...All that just to say, "in the end you'll be glad you heeded everyone's
advice". :)
