He may wish that it's not the majority view, but, as is often - wrong! Even if 
most Christians were no longer able to realize sin when they "see it," it's 
STILL SIN, and IS condemned in the Scriptures, NO MATTER how many times he 
says it's not. Repeating the lie like a mantra WON'T change the truth that it 
IS an abomination according to God.

The better reason is because to oppose it IS what is correct. Like all other 
sin.........NO difference.
