Well, I'm coming into this discussion quite late but I definitely have
to speak up about it. The issue isn't Republican vs. Democrat, but
rather conservative vs. liberal. Both parties are, in my opinion,
treacherous to us, as the general public of this country. Neither party
is after what we, as a people, want or need. They are after their own
crazy agendas. What we need are people of integrity and character, no
matter what party they may be a part of.

In my high school days I would have said I was a Republican. I was, and
still am, ultra-conservative and was, and still am, quite open about it.
However, as I have matured and learned more about politics over the past
few years I've come to the conclusion that the Republican party wants to
do me no more good than the liberal Democratic party. The Republicans
don't stand for the issues I want them to stand for.

I like George W. Bush. I think he has handled the situation our country
has been in quite well given all the strife he gets both in and outside
of our country's borders. But, that doesn't necessarily mean I like his
politics all that well. He is very liberal on some social issues,
especially those pertaining to illegal immigrants. He has also been
spending _way_ too much money after he cut our taxes (which I loved).

Moving along, to say you are a Christian and then in the same sentence
say you support abortion in _ANY_ circumstance makes me wonder. Did you
know that there are doctors out there that will tell you there is NEVER
a medical reason to abort a baby? N E V E R! Did the liberals get
that? To say that people would continue to get abortions in allies is
just ludicrous and a lie straight from the mouth of the Lord of Lies
himself. Sure, some women may, but there isn't going to be a mass
exodus of women running to Joe's Discount Abortions behind Safeway.

Abortion is murder and as Ed put it, murder is sin. Now, that isn't to
say they can't repent of their ways, but why encourage people to sin by
making a sin legal? After all, aren't laws made to keep us from
sinning? "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I
had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the
law had said, Thou shalt not covet", Romans 7:7.

To wrap things up before I really get myself into trouble, trust what
the Bible says, not what people tell you. Test the spirits (1 John
4:1). If the spirit of the person telling you something is of God then
what they say can be trusted, else quickly discarded as lies. As a good
guide for testing the spirits use James 3:17. If what you hear matches
what is said in this verse then you know it is of God. Not once
does God condone killing as an act of inconvenience (abortion).

For your political standpoints, well, I think we need to have a
political workshop or something. There are far too many Christians in
this country that are completely brainwashed by the government and other
groups in power such as the ACLU, NOW, NAACP, etc.

Peace be with you,

Brian
