It works great if you get the latest version from
freshrpms.net.  The reason it is slow is because it
does the dependency checking on the fly, which is one
reason why I like it.

You don't reinvent the wheel, you build a better
mousetrap.  While you are building it, you improve on
the standard design and also learn everything you ever
wanted to know about adminning Linux.  What a deal!

The tools have different theories behind them.
SuSE and Mandrake and Ark are trying to go for user
friendliness (i.e. dumb corprate users).  Fedora and
Redhat have gone for modularity, one tool to do one
job well.  Just like me :))
