Is it necessary?  Newegg still sells IDE burners. (about $20-$25 each). 
  I've had good experience with LG and Lite-On burners (but I haven't 
probably stressed them as much as you would).

Also, from a quick check they have duplicators (1 to 11 for about $600-$900)
