I have looked at building up a mini-itx file and print server a while 
ago, in fact I was even looking at putting together a small and 
completely silent computer purely for web-browsing and e-mail; however, 
I currently have have 4 desktop computers in my room at the moment, and 
I don't want any more computers. I did want to use one of those at one 
point, but I just don't have the room up here and don't think the rest 
of the family is enthusiastic enough about this to give me some space 
downstairs to set one up for the whole family.

A small, low-power device that doesn't make too much noise is exactly 
what I'm looking for, it would have to fit on a book-shelf and I'd have 
to be able to sleep through the noise it makes.
