Hi everyone,
I'm shopping around for a DSLR (window shopping at least, we'll
see...), and I was wondering if any of you have any thoughts? I'm
looking primarily at the Canon EOS 40D and the Sony α700, but I am
also at least pondering the Nikon D300 (and maybe D80), as well as the
Pentax K10D (which is way cheaper, but looks really well spec'ed).
Any thoughts? My sense is that for longevity of the system I would be
safest with the Canon or Nikon, but the Sony looks like it has the
Nikon D300's specs for several hundred bucks less (and I really have
liked my Sony digicams). I like the live view LCD of the Canon and
Nikon (as well as the time lapse support); I like the Image
Stabilization (sensor shift) of Sony and Pentax. Anything over 10 MP
is plenty for me, I think, so I'm not really worried about sensor
size. Thoughts on CCD vs. CMOS?
Thanks,
Tim
