This is exactly the whole point of Ubuntu aswell. There is one thing though:
Ubuntu is entirely free and open-source by default, and is tied to keep
being.

You state that 30% of linux users

Ok you might not be really aware of the main Ubuntu target. They are not
advanced users, like slackware/gentoo/arch users. On the contrary, most
Ubuntu users are newbies, and usability is really important for us. However,
Ubuntu being free and open-source, it cannot ship proprietary programs and
drivers as Mandriva or SuSE do.

For info, my sister, mom, dad and best friend use Kubuntu daily. And none of
them are computer litterate. They just click around.

I am talking about simplifying the process, for lack of a better term

This is the point of Ubuntu/Kubuntu again. I would/will/do make these
improvements in Ubuntu/Kubuntu and they are found in Ichthux because Ichthux
is based on Kubuntu. It is not our mission to implement this usability
directly in Ichthux though, since core Ubuntu/Kubuntu users want it too.

I was pointing out areas where that is not possible currently, but could be

If you have ideas to improve this with little effort, you are welcome to
join #kubuntu-devel and help :)
