You can add the user by the command 'smbpasswd -a <username>' then it
prompts you to set this new user's password.  I am a big fan of using
Swat or samba-swat.  It's a nice web interface to setting Samba up on
port 901. Never have used the control panel for this before.  Then you
also have the option to just to edit the flat file.
