I should probably start another thread, but I've been meaning to ask  
too whether there are any BSD fans/advocates on this listerv.

I actually began my adventures in FOSS-world playing with OpenBSD,  
and then moved over to FreeBSD for more general purpose stuff. I had  
played with Debian once or twice and found configuring the system to  
be a mirky process compared to my experience with FreeBSD. Then I  
tried Gentoo about two years ago . . . but any FOSS "work" I've  
always done has always been accomplished with FreeBSD.

I like Linux though, and am trying to get more cozy with it.
