It is my direct observation and the view of most non-
Roman Catholic and Orthodox denominations that the
Apocrypha contain material that either conflicts with
the "Canon" (the Bible without the additional books of
the Apocrypha) and/or are not considered among those
inspired by God to be in His Bible.

There is little conflict about the authority and inclusion
of the books of the Apocrypha inside of either group, just
between the two.

There is an interesting discussion here
http://www.bluffton.edu/~bergerd/deutero.html
with which I agree on many but not all points. He draws an
interesting distinction between deuterocanonical and apocryphical.

Essentially, if you are in the evangelical Christian "tent"
you will be taught from a Bible not including the Apocrypha
books (or at least not as equally authoritative as the others)
and if you are in the Roman Catholic/Orthodox "tent" you
will be taught from one fully integrating those books.

You may need to do some personal research and to consult
folks under whose spiritual authority you sit for assistance
in considering this.

That's a quick response ...
