Windows held 49.6% of online servers
Linux held 29.6%
In europe (1999), however, the numbers are:
Windows 24.4% and Linux 28.5
Here is a survey of companies from 2002. They were
asked which they used (one/both/none).
Linux server 64.3% 35.5%
Windows 2000 Server 59.9% 37.0%
Windows NT Server 64.3% 74.2%
Commercial Unix server 37.7% 31.2%
It's a looooooong read ... but worth it if you are
into that sort of thing.
