[CS-FSLUG] ISO Image Quality & Burn Speeds

A couple of quick notes about burning ISOs. Always, always, always
check the md5sum! Burn it fast! Why not? Like Nathan said, this isn't
8 years ago when you were lucky if you didn't make a coaster at 2x. I
purchased a 32x burner, patched it with a flash update and now burn with
it at 40x consistently (ie, never had a coaster).

My guess it bad quality media, corrupted ISO or dust in the reading
CD-ROM drive (or other error in the reading device).

As a quick aside, you said you're using xcdroast or something to that
nature, can it give you the command it is using? Considering all the
GUIs are front-ends to cdrecord/cdrdao it may be easy to pick out a flag
they are setting that wouldn't make sense in your situation. And as
always, use the console! `sudo cdrecord dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 speed=40 -eject
-data file.iso` DONE! (The -data flag is actually redundant and not
needed as cdrecord automatically burns in -data mode if none is
specified.)

Happy burning!
