[CS-FSLUG] Prayer Request: Our Academic Brothers and Sisters in the South

It was pretty windy here in Charlotte last night, although the News-14
website (news14charlotte.com) showed tornadic activity further west of
us. We were under tornado watch 'till 3:00 AM. With the wind howling
and the trees flopping around and debris blowing up against the house,
I didn't get a whole lot of sleep. Add to that the train-noises I
heard (actual trains, although I don't recall ever hearing them
before), and you can guess I was watching out my window.

Parts of Charlotte are surely flooded, though my family and I have
been completely unaffected. O.k., with the weather the way it is, and
Bush being in town, I didn't think I would get to work today. So
minor inconveniences for us. Further west, the story is very
different. Duke Power had let Mountain Island Lake drop by 12 ft.
yesterday (or day before) in order to prepare. There may still be
concerns about one dam not being able to last much longer - don't know
for sure.

Once again, we've been spared any real damage - so it seems. My
thoughts are with the folks in GA, FL, Tennessee, and Western NC.
We've still got two more out there - though Karl appears to be fairly
harmless for the moment.
