My computer right here is wired and the computer about 5 steps from this one 
is wireless. Both computers drop connection, but still appear to be connected 
but cannot access the web unless the router is power cycled.

Both, wired and wireless.

How far from my home does the definition of neighbor mean they are 
neighbors? :-) I have neighbors, but not dirrectly beside me on either side 
But yes I myself have a wireless phone, but don't know if it's 2.4ghz since 
it was given to me.
