Basically, Tink, it's to do with looking at how people behave within
groups and organazations, and how those groups and organizations are
organised and how they perform. Different companies are set up
differently, why? Do cultural differences affect things such as
efficiency? Does age, ethnic background, educational level, work
environments produce differences in performance?

Obviously, behavioural matters such as motivation are considered, and,
for example, if I was doing such research again, I would like to look at
how Open Source teams are organised, how they differ (if they do), and
whether size/complexity affect the mix.

Really it's about applying psychological theories and ideas to the
workplace.

Sorry for a quick (and probably not too clear) answer, but I'm just in
from work, and am shortly out for the evening!

Terence
