as i understand it, they are operating there only as contractors, with the 
iraqi government actually owning the oil. perhaps, though, you could 
explain how any of this has particularly benefited the oil companies.

i don't know. you've made some allegations; perhaps you could share how, as 
you say, these things work.

to the extent that they're oil men at all, they're small oil men. bush was 
an unsuccessful wildcatter for a decade or so. you might as well call him 
a big baseball man or a big governor man or, for that matter, a big 
president man. cheney's lone involvement in the oil industry was as 
president of the oil services firm, halliburton, for five years. so you 
might as well call him a big congress man, or a big secretary of defense 
man, in that he did both of those things for far longer.

think you drank the koolaid there.
