I guess I should do this introduction thing too, since most of the people on this list probably don't know me from Adam and here I jump right in talking about boats. Everybody probably thinks, "who's this dude?"

I'm a 48 year old Wisconsin backwoods hick with a mechanical engineering degree and I spent 22 years as a fighter pilot in the USAF (MN ANG 148th Fighter Wing) in the reserves, except for two years active duty during the Persian Gulf War. I'm married to a Swedish girl that moved the US when she was 17, and who's 10 years younger than me. Except for the Swedish accent, I have her pretty much converted to an American Country Girl, but we still have Cultural Clash right in our own house, which keeps things interesting. I have two daughters ages 22 and 25 from my first marriage, a grandson who's almost 6 and a granddaughter age 7 months. We also have a son-in-law who's married to our oldest daughter.

My wife and I are "semi-retired" and we bought a farm two years ago where we live. My wife has registered Arabian horses and beef cattle and I have tractors, semi-trucks, a big combine and about 2,000 acres of corn and soybeans to keep me busy.

I ran the previous TechTalk mailing list for several years, in its various incarnations, which in its final form was sort of a combination of the population of the old SysTalk list and some refugees from the Corel Linux days. I no longer have the server resources to run it on and some of the people that are here, I recognize from the new defunct TechTalk list.

When it comes to computers, I use Windows Vista on a Dell laptop because I like Vista and I'm a computing moron.

My wife and I enjoy hunting, fishing (lots of both), travelling, working on our farm, spending time with our grandkids, and sometimes just kicking back on the porch swing watching the sunset.

Well, I'm not very good at introductions, so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
