+1 all the way.
Big Media wants to own truth. So it is a priority of them to keep silent
those vocal, those able to find and disseminate information, those who
think, those who are not sheeple. Thus, misusing the word "hacker" is
likely in the orders that frontline journalists are forced to obey, even
though "cracker" especially in context., would be so much more accurate.
I did debate this point in Wikipedia, and also blogged about it,
following a post by a challenger to Rep. Lamar Smith, our friend from
SOPA, who was careless with the word. Eventually he twitted that he
agreed with me...
