Sorry about that. Yes, by CB, I do mean CrunchBang. I might try one of
their earlier versions...one that doesn't use the latest version of X.

Another friend of mine suggested that I try a debian on-line install.
I already downloaded the minimal ISO, I just need to burn it and give
it a go.
