Amazingly, I am still using Sabayon as my desktop after all this time.
It has done more just-plain-working than any other desktop distro I've
used. There have been blips, but the docs have been available every
time.

I am convinced that this is because Sabayon's basis on Gentoo, a non-
package-based distro, means that Sabayon is not dependent upon thousands
of tiny package-teams which don't talk to each other very much. Gentoo
developers have to talk to each other for anything to work very much,
encouraging a more effective cooperation. At least that's current theory
:-) The most remarkable thing to me is a non-commercial project working
much better than so many commercial ones.

Sabayon does also have a security-updates-only method of sticking with
current versions of things. And it has handled driver issues on one
laptop (a 5-year-old Toshiba no less) and one desktop very well indeed.
