I found what seems to be a Java-based app that will do email merging
(and other distasteful stuff for spammers) that is cross-platform,
including Linux. Unfortunately, I had to boot into OSX to do some
duplex printing, so I don't have access to that web page for now. When
I boot Ubuntu again, I'll try to remember to post the link--but like I
said, I had the impression that it was for rather distasteful things
(which is probably why I hesitated in the first place), but it might
be something that will do this.
