[CS-FSLUG] Samba and XP - why a problem?

Short explanation about my needs:
The small PC (in the basement) is connected with a router to the big one
(on flat 1). The big one has got a printer USB local, and I would like
to print the documents made on the small PC. Therefore I have been
looking for Samba. It is only two PC involved with one router, and I am
using the IP-numbers, 192.168.0.2 (the big one) and 192.168.0.3 (the
small one).
The big one has got XPHomeEdition and Ubuntu/Fedora. The small one has
got Fedora/Ubuntu (Ubuntu crashed this evening). With SSH I have
connection between the two computers and even printing. Now I would like
to get something printed without changing from XP to Fedora on the big
PC. And they tell me, that Samba will make this possible.
