If you get a moment download and run the Puppy Live
2.13 iso.  I am curious if it will pick up that
internal stick.  Several guys are successfully
running Sony Vaio's, though I did not spot your
specific model in a quick search.

The Puppy folks have worked hard on their usb
stick implementation, esp. for booting and running
entirely from the stick.
