This come closer to the point of the original post than most of this 
discussion so far.  Although I am aware of the conflict surrounding Harry 
Potter, I have nevertheless seen the movies on T.V.  I agree that we need to 
be careful about what we allow to influence us, and we need to teach our 
children that they need not be influenced by such material as H.P.

Even though I have not read any of the books, and have no reason to do so, I 
do oppose any effort to prevent a reader who obtained a book in good faith 
from being able to read it.  It is, imo, inhuman.
