If you're looking to buy some books be prepared to see your money
start disappearing rather quickly, as I've found that almost anything
(IMO) worth reading can't be found in your regular public library
(although a university library should stock most of this stuff). You
might be able to find good material on the web, although sometimes the
quality is questionable.

For the moment you might consider looking at UC Berkeley -
http://webcast.berkeley.edu/courses/index.php as they have lectures
for a number of courses available in video (realplayer) and mp3
formats (note that the central index only shows courses for the
current semester, although there are courses from other semesters
archived online).

Hope this gets you started,

Dave
