Thanks, the Serval line looks like a decent outfit.  Unfortunately
it's just a 15" screen.  I'll keep it in mind.

I might also consider something from Powernotebooks.com, which is a
Christian company with literally *perfect* ratings on
resellerratings.com.  They can also sell notebooks without Windows.

Of course, and this is totally out of character for me because I
really, really, REALLY dislike Windows (and have not purchased a
computer with Windows on it since Windows 3.1!!!), I actually did plan
to keep a small Windows partition on it.  Main reason for that is I
want to use street mapping software with a GPS connection, and I'm
pretty sure there's nothing in that category for Linux.  Maybe for tax
software and other odds-and-ends also.

Keep suggestions comming!
